Disco Pop-Up

In 2021 I collaborated with a local D.C. artist, Maggie O’Neill, to open a safe pop-up space where people could still enjoy themselves in the mist of covid. We launched in Washington, D.C., it was just after the capitol riots when the city was getting out of a lockdown and everyone needed some sparkle.

I produced the day-to-day shoots and photographed the space averaging ~50 people a day. I also worked on marketing the event to generate excitement and press. People signed-up online, came into the pop-up, dressed-up, and played their music in our disco installation while I captured them.

We successively ran this pop-up for three months with over 1,000 people participating, no covid outbreaks, and 100% good vibes after leaving.
